APC has increased people’s suffering in Lagos – ADP
Mr. Adewale Bolaji, the Lagos State chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP), has bemoaned that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has increased the sufferings of the people since the administration came to power.
Bolaji who spoke at the party secretariat in Lagos described the much-publicised achievement of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the state as cosmetic and elitist.
He said, “I heard many people praising the governor for his achievements in office, but this development is mere propaganda which does not translate into a better living condition of the masses.”
He stressed that the living condition of average Lagosians in the past two years has worsened than it was before. What do you call development when majority of the people cannot afford two meals a day or access health facility?
“Development is not all about constructing flyovers while people are finding it difficult to cope with the harsh economic situation in the state.
The party boss promised that ADP would improve on the inherent weakness of APC led government when it emerges the winning party in 2019.
Bolaji delighted that the party which was registered some months ago, could boast of over six million members, promising that the number might double or triple before the general election in 2019.
The party is prepared for the general elections in 2019; as a lot of activities are going on to suggest that we are ready to take over power from APC in Lagos and Abuja.
“We have the presence of the party in all local governments and wards and our leaders have been meeting.
“Many Nigerians are tired of APC and PDP and they are looking up to ADP as the alternative platform to redeem the country,” he stated
Bolaji disclosed that the party was not worried by endorsement of Governor Ambode by various groups in the state because the same governor was receiving bashing from some groups too.
“We are not threatened by several groups endorsing the governor for second term in office because in the same speed, people are condemning some of his policies like the recent Land Use Act which drew condemnation from professional organizations,” he added.
