GOV. NYESOM WIKE SHINES AT THE SUN MAN OF THE YEAR 2017...

Gov. Wike described as a shining star in public service. WIKE is largely seen as an inspirational and turn-around leader who turned around the fortunes of Rivers State grapping to meet numerous challenges on the educational, housing and agricultural fronts to a state now buoyant with each economic features.
One of Wike biggest achievements in Rivers State is his government increased funding for education (Approximately 35% of the state annual budget since he assumed power in 2015).
The second big one and the most talked about that won him mass attention is what He is popularly known as Mr Project of Rivers State, Wike’s administration has executed several laudable Projets and Completed Numerous Project that were Abandoned by previous administration and Has gave out loan thru Rivers Micro Finance Agency to the benefit of the large population of the state and reduced poverty among the ordinary people.
Successful completion of Trans-Amadi Road, Igwuruta-Etche Road, Sapkewa-Bori, Edeoha-Ochigba Road, Opopo Road on-going, Airport Road- Obiri-Ikwerre Road, internal Roads in Portharcourt and other LGA's, Renovation and upgrade of BMSH Hospital; Establishment of Portharcourt Polytechnic, Renovation and upgrading of over 13 Hospital to full fledged General hospitals, invested much in security making Rivers a safe State and this has attracted major local and international events hosted in Rivers State and ETC.
And lastly, Wike is one of Nigeria’s most democratic governors as he has allowed his deputy, Her Excellency Dr. IPALIBO HARRY BANIGO, the first Female Deputy Governor in Rivers State to function properly in his administration. Gov. WIKE also associate and attend function of the APC despite the fact that He is a PDP Governor.
To this rare feats and political achievements, the editorial board of The Sun Newspaper deemed it fit to honor him with the award of Sun Man of the Year 2017.
