Appreciation
On behalf of the people of Degema Local Government Area, I, Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, applaud the Governor of Rivers State, Chief ( Barr) Nyesom Wike, for again demonstrating uncommon political will to appoint Chief ( Hon) Boma Dappa from Bille as the CTC Chairman of our dear LGA.
This will make it a second time on the spin that an indigene of Bille will be saddled with the responsibility of leading our LGA. It is instructive to note that before the advent of the Governor Wike's administration, Bille people have never occupied the exalted position either in substantive capacity or appointment.
We also appreciate the motherly and supportive role our dear mother, Her Excellency, Dr ( Mrs) Ipalibo Harry - Banigo played, as well as the unrelenting efforts of Hon. Pleasant Braide. Efforts of other leaders of the LGA are duly observed.
We all know the role Bille Kingdom plays in the Revenue accruable to the Federal Government as a major oil producing area from Rivers State.
Also very fundamental to us as a people, we need good leaders! Leaders who we all can trust, the kind of leaders who always put public interests above their political or personal interests, so that the yearnings and aspirations of the commoners can be realized. A leader who keeps to his promises. His Excellency, Governor Wike has proven to be that repeatedly.
I also wish to concur with the position of our mother, the Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, that from whom much is given, much more is expected. The incoming CTC Chairman and his team should see it as a priority to improve the lives of the people at the grassroots.
May God continue to provide the CTC Chairman and his team with the required wisdom to effectively contribute their quota to the uplift of our dear LGA.
On a final note, we wish to profoundly thank the Almighty God for his unending grace upon us, for without Him, all would not have been a reality. With God by our side, Degema will definitely rise again.
Congratulations.
Signed
Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo,
Lawmaker representing Degema Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Education in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
